INSTALLATION

All surfaces which are to be coated with Epoxy.com Product #889 must be free of contamination such as curing compounds, concrete hardeners, bond breakers, paint, etc. We recommend water-curing concrete instead of using concrete curing compounds. All surfaces must be clean, sound and dry. Sandblasting is recommended when possible, otherwise acid etching and wirebrushing may be sufficient.

Coverage:  250 sq.ft. per gallon on rough surfaces.  Up to 350 sq.ft. per gallon on smooth surfaces.

All solvents must be allowed to evaporate off before application over Epoxy.com PRODUCT #889 is possible. For best results, the surface that has been coated with Epoxy.com PRODUCT #889 should be allowed to cure for a minimum of 2 hours before the application of the membrane or joint sealant. If for some reason the primer is allowed to cure in excess of 8 hours, the surface should be sanded and reprimed with Epoxy.com PRODUCT #889.

Epoxy.com PRODUCT #889 should not be applied over wet surfaces as full adhesion and penetration will not be obtained. Epoxy.com PRODUCT #889 may be applied by brush, roller or spray. Containers that have been opened must be used up within one or two days since it is a moisture-sensitive product.

Clean Up: Because of the difficulty in cleaning up or removing cured Epoxy.com PRODUCT #889, equipment and tools should be cleaned immediately after use with xylene or M.E.K. If cleaning operations are performed in areas where safety regulations do not allow the use of flammable solvents, 1,1,1, Trichloroethylene may be used. Use only water based hand cleaners for skin clean up.
